Join Lakeland High School at Fleet Feet Lakeland for a preseason 3k race to kick-off the cross country season! There will be discounts in-store for all runners and prizes for the top finishers in the girls and boys races. (Purchase a pair of spikes and receive $15 off trainers.)
WHO
PARTICIPANTS: Middle school and high school students gearing up for cross country season. All paces and abilities are welcome.
WHAT
“3K Rust Buster” a Pre-Season Celebration at Fleet Feet
Timed 3K race around Lakeside Village with Fleet Feet. A post-run party will feature a “gear up for XC” celebration in Fleet Feet, including store discounts for athletes, raffle prizes, popsicles, and vendors.
WHEN
Saturday August 15th, 2025 at 7:30 AM
WHERE
Fleet Feet Lakeland and Lakeside Village. The run portion will take place on a 3k loop around Lakeside Village, which includes a grass trail and sidewalk/road. The post-run party will take place on the road outside of Fleet Feet, where the start and finish line are located, which will be closed for traffic.
COST
$100 per school, both genders included. Or $10 per individual. Please make checks out to Fleet Feet Lakeland.
TIMELINE
Saturday Morning, August 15th
06:45- Packet pick-up begins for coaches and individual runners inside Fleet Feet Lakeland.
07:15- Packet pick-up concludes
07:30- Boys Race begins outside Fleet Feet
07:32- Girls Race begins outside Fleet Feet
08:15- Run concludes, after-party in street/ Fleet Feet Store.
09:30- Event Concludes
*Fleet Feet will act as the “home base”. Bathrooms will be inside the store for use.*
Brooks XC Regional Meet Wild Card
*The top 5 girls and boys will be considered to win ONE Fleet Feet Wild Card for a complimentary entry the Brooks XC Regional Race in Charlotte, NC on November 28th, 2026. Other criteria for each wild card candidate includes athletes who balance high-level performance, influence within their local community, and excitement building potential around the Brooks XC Regional race through a social media presence. One girl and one boy will be announced in early September to receive a wild card entry to the Brooks XC Regional Race in Charlotte, NC on November 28th, 2026.
