Date: Monday, October 20, 2025 & Tuesday, October 21, 2025 Location: Kate Barr-Ross Park, Huntsville, Texas Entry Deadline: Tuesday, October 15 at 11:59 pm Qualifying: The top 3 teams and any individual in the top 10 from your district meet are eligible to compete in the regional championships. ***ONLY enter through Direct Athletics if you have qualified a team or individual for the regional championships*** Entry Procedure: All entries will be done online through Direct Athletics. Search: “UIL Region III Cross Country Championships” Each coach of qualifying individuals/teams is responsible for entering their own athletes. Do NOT rely on the district chairperson to do this. Coaches of qualifying teams may enter up to 10 athletes (7 racers + 3 alternates). All competing athletes must be certified and eligible by UIL rules. You must declare your 7 runners at packet pickup. The bib numbers and chips for any non-competing athletes must be turned in at packet pickup. Be sure to enter your 3 alternates on Direct Athletics. Entry Fee: All entries are $30 per athlete (including alternates) entered in the competition. Fees can be mailed to: SHSU Cross Country, Box 2268, Huntsville, Texas 77341 Checks payable to: SHSU Cross Country To pay via credit card, please complete the credit card authorization form (last page) and email David Self at dself@shsu.edu. Parking: Parking is $10 per vehicle (cash only). There will be no cost of parking for school buses and clearly marked school vehicles (no passes needed). Unmarked school vehicles need to email Alie Angelo (baa029@shsu.edu) prior to 5pm on Friday, October 18 and your name will be placed on a pass list to allow you entrance to the park. Parking lots will open at 6:15 am on the day of competition. In order to reduce traffic congestion, please do not enter park until 2 hours prior to your scheduled race. Packet Pickup: Packets may be picked up from 3:00 to 6:00 pm the day prior to competition @ Kate Barr-Ross Park. Packets may also be picked up the morning of competition, beginning at 7am. Practice Times: The course will be open for inspection from 2:00 to 7:00 pm the day prior to competition. Teams are not allowed on the course prior to 2pm on Sunday or Monday. Bib Numbers: Numbers, pins and timing chips will be found in each packet. Each number will be assigned to a specific athlete. Please be sure that each athlete’s number is visible on the front of their uniform and the athlete has their assigned chip securely attached to their shoe. Timing Chips: All timing chips must be returned. The 6th and 7th runners will count as displacers. Teams with less than five runners will not be totaled in the team scores. Results: All results will be posted live at www.flashresultstexas.com Protests: Protests must be in writing and delivered to the meet referee within 30- minutes of the posting of results. State Qualifiers: The first 4 teams in each division and the top 10 individuals not already on one of the advancing teams in the regional meet qualify for the state championship. Awards: The awards ceremony will be held on the field adjacent to the starting line according to the awards schedule. Trophies will be presented to the 1st place team in each division, medals to the team members of the first 3 teams in each division and medals to the top 10 individuals in each division. We will also recognize those outside the top 10 individuals who have also qualified for the state championship along with the 4th place team. T-Shirts: T-Shirts will be sold at the meet site the day of competition through Fine Designs Inc.
