Meet Notes:
The 3rd Annual Matteo Mitchell Invitational is a hammer throw competition open to athletes of all levels. The meet will have two sections: an Open Section and a Competition Section. The Open Section is for athletes who want to throw for fun, get extra reps, or throw different weighted implements. The Competition Section is the prize-money section and will be scored based on each athlete’s improvement from their previous lifetime best, rather than only the farthest throw of the day. To be eligible for the Competition Section and prize money, athletes must have competed in two hammer meets during the 2025-2026 season to ensure a fair competition. Prize money will be awarded to the top three athletes with the largest personal best improvement: 1st place: $500, 2nd place: $300, and 3rd place: $200. More detailed rules, event information, and meet-day logistics will be included in the meet information sheet.
