    Cal State LA Twilight Open Join us under “The Lights” at Jesse Owens Track on the campus of Cal State LA Meet Information This year, the Cal State LA Twilight meet will be held on the same week as the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays. We will have heats of the steeple chase, 5000m, and the 10k for any overflow from those meets. We will not have the hammer and javelin. Date Thursday, April 16, 2026 – All events will be held at Cal State LA’s Jesse Owens Track Entry Fees College team entries will be maxed out at $600 per team or $1200 for men’s and women’s teams, or $40 per event and/or $40 per relay team. Open/Club- $40 per event. Relays are $40 per relay team. A late fee of $50 will be added per gender/team or open individual. Entry Information All collegiate teams must enter using the Direct Athletics website at http://www.directathletics.com. This is the ONLY method for entries. If your team does not have a username and password already set up with Direct Athletics, you must do so before entering. Collegiate coaches can only enter eligible NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA/CCCAA athletes on their roster. All others must use the individual online entry process. Entries will close on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 11:59 pm Pacific. The meet is open to all club teams and unattached athletes, who must also enter using the Direct Athletics website at http://www.directathletics.com. This is the ONLY method of meet entry. If you do not have a username and password already set up with Direct Athletics, you must do so before entering. Club teams and unattached athletes are required to pay by credit card before their entries are accepted. Once the credit card has been successfully processed, your entries will be declared and accepted into the meet. Entries will close on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 11:59 pm Pacific. Heat Sheets Heat sheets will be posted on the Cal State L.A. website on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Honest Entries Please enter marks only from the 2023 through 2026 seasons. Marks that cannot be verified will be automatically seeded into a slower section upon protest. Please do not exaggerate marks to get an athlete into the meet. Late Entries/Scratches Late entries will not be accepted. Scratches will not be refunded. There will be no exceptions. Timing Timing will be done with Finish Lynx fully automatic timing system. Rules This meet will be conducted under World Athletics Rules. There will be no false starts, and all field events will be measured in meters. Check-In Field Events: (Discus, Shot Put, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, and Triple Jump). For this meet, check-in will take place at the event. Athletes must report to the official who will be running the event. There will be a designated area for a coach’s box. Both the athlete and coach will be escorted off the field after the completion of the event. *Pole vault warm-up will begin 90 minutes before the start of the event. Track Events: A Check-in tent will be located in the southeast corner of the field, just inside the track. Report to the clerk of course at least 60 minutes prior to the start of the event. A final call for check-in will be made on the warm-up field 20 minutes prior to an event. Athletes will be escorted from the check-in tent to their event. Spike Requirement: In all events, except the High Jump, 1/4” pyramid spikes must be used. For the High Jump, 3/8” spikes may be worn. No needle or Christmas tree spikes are allowed. Any spiked shoe with permanent non-compliant spikes will not be permitted. Spikes will be checked. NCAA/World Athletics Spike/Shoe Policy: NEW: In rule 14 of the NCAA Handbook, Article 15 states, “Any type of shoe must be reasonably available and listed on the World Athletics approved list.” Random shoe checks will be completed throughout the meet. You can check the status of your spikes/shoes at https://certcheck.worldathletics.org. Opening Heights & Field Event Information There will be implement weigh-ins at this meet. All implements should be checked and approved by the USATF official on-site at least 1 hour before the start of the event. Three attempts in all throws and horizontal jumps, plus three additional attempts for the top 9, unless a small field in a particular event enables six attempts. Opening heights for the high jump and pole vault have been established by meet management at the following standards: Men’s Pole Vault: 3.45 meters (11’3.75”) Women’s Pole Vault: 1.85 meters (6’0.75”) Men’s High Jump: 1.60 meters (5’3”) Women’s High Jump: 1.30 meters (4’3”) Implement Certification Weigh-ins for the Shot Put and Discus will be done just outside the north entrance to the track. Implements will be impounded after weigh-in. They will be returned upon completion of the event. Parking for spectators: Parking for spectators: The most convenient public parking lot for cars and minivans is in Parking Structure B, Parking Lot 2, and Parking Structure C. Pay by phone is available for each of these locations. Look for the posted signs to get the location number for each spot. The cost for parking is $5 for four hours and $10 for all-day parking. Team Drop-off and Parking: Athletes and coaches may be dropped off along Circle Drive at the main entrance to Reeder Field (baseball facility). There will be no parking at the track and field complex for teams. Warm-ups: The warm-up area will be the field inside the track. It is convenient to the trainer’s area, which is located on the outside of the northeast part of the track near the finish line. This way, you can get email updates on any changes that are made before the meet. There will be no refunds given for missing your event.
