Meet Notes:
The National Conference Divisional meet will be held at Freedom High School on April 2nd, starting at 12 noon. The meet is the preliminary qualifier for the HCPS County Championships held the following week.

This Divisional meet is open to the nine public schools that make up the National Conference - Armwood, Chamberlain, Freedom, Hillsborough, King, Middleton, Strawberry Crest, Tampa Bay Tech, and Wharton. Only those nine schools will be allowed to register. The Divisional meet is expected to run simultaneously with the American and Federal divisional meets in the East and West regions of the County.

This is a complete track meet with all 18 events. Schools will be allowed to enter four participants per event. Coaches, please share these key details with your assistant coaches and athletes.

Coaches Meeting: There will be no coaches meeting. It is up to coaches to read the meet information and share with their coaches and athletes.

Minimum Heights: We will set the minimum heights for vertical Field Events at one mark lower than the lowest ENTERED height. No Mark (NM) athletes will enter at this height as well. Minimum Heights are set and non-negotiable.

Scratches: The scratch policy for any "elimination series" will be set in accordance with an agreement among the host schools and the County. BY FHSAA rules, in any "elimination series," an athlete who misses an event as a DNS (Did Not Show), is disqualified for the rest of the meet/series. Athletes who DNF (Did Not Finish) are allowed to participate in other events.

Infield Rules: As per FHSAA guidelines, NO NON-COMPETING ATHLETES or NON-OFFICATING Coaches will not be allowed on the infield or in the competitive arena. The competitive arena is defined as clearly visible areas set aside for actual competition. Obviously, we have coaches working events and they will be allowed on the infield/competitive arena. Upon completion of flights/duties, athletes and coaches must immediately leave the infield/competitive arena.

Field Event Check in: Check in will occur BY FLIGHT at the event site. Fences are in place to keep athletes who are not in the competing flight from entering the flight and congesting the area. With a maximum of 40 athletes (4x10) we will target two flights per event. The top competitors will go in the first flight, with the best mark going last. In the throws and horizontal jumps, competitors get four attempts, no finals. Athletes are reminded to arrive "Race Ready," which means no sliders, no electronic devices.

Running Events Check In: All running events will check in at the entrance to the track. Athletes are reminded to arrive "Race Ready," which means no sliders, no electronic devices.

Electronic Devices: State officials continue to complain about the presence of electronic devices in the competitive arenas. Please remind your athletes that electronic devices are not allowed in the competitive arenas. Athletes with electronic devices in the competitive arena will be disqualified. This is the only warning. Obviously, coaches can film athletes and show them, but by FHSAA laws video review cannot impede or disrupt the steady flow of competition.

Duties: As this is a County event, all coaches are expected to participate in helping run events. See the duty roster assigned.
