February 18, 2012 Dear Coaches, The CSU‐Pueblo Athletics Department would like to invite you and your team to compete at the ThunderWolves track and field outdoor meets. What follows is the information for the Colorado State University‐Pueblo home meets for 2012. As head coach I have attempted to place pertinent information in the packet, but if there are additional questions please email (preferred) chad.perry@colostate‐pueblo.edu or call 719‐549‐2072. 1. Track Surface (RSS 2000 Synthetic is %100 polyurethane bases): This surface will be conducive to great performances while minimizing the stress on the athlete’s body. The track has a ten lane straight away with nine lanes around the track. 2. Field Events: The track is also equipped with collegiate pits for the pole vault and high jump. All of the field events are new including long/triple jump runways and landing areas. The discus/hammer ring, javelin runway, and shot put ring can be scheduled to compete at the same time. These amenities will add to the quality of the meet. The facility was built to help family, friends and fans follow the competition as it is happening. 1. Jump Information: • HJ‐ The high jump provides large approach area in the north side of stadium. • LJ‐ South side Runway 160ft (8ft Board) • LJ‐ North side Runway 159ft (8ft Board) • TJ‐ South side Runway 137ft (32ft), 133ft (36ft), 128ft (41ft) • TJ‐North side Runway 136ft (32ft), 132ft (36), 127ft (41ft) • PV‐ The Pole‐vault runway provides 130ft (vault box to vault box) 2. Throws Information: • Shot‐78ft • Hammer/Discus‐ (Ring 1) 237ft (Ring 2) 247ft, Left Sector 245ft/255ft Right Sector 240ft/250ft • Javelin: – 247ft Specific information regarding events schedule and entry fees/deadlines will be available at a later date on our athletics website http://www.gothunderwolves.com. No high school aged students may participate. Starting time on Friday will be 2:00pm with the Men’s and Women’s competition in the hammer and javelin. Starting time on Saturday will be 9:00am for discus, shot put, and jumping events and 11:00am for the running events. The entry fee is $150 dollars per team (m & w separate) or 10.00 per athlete per event.
